Caroline Dechamby
Caroline Dechamby was born on March 22, 1964 in Utrecht, in the Netherlands. She grew up in an artistic environment, her mother being a painter and her father an architect.
At an early age, she left her native country for France, to study the language. A few years later, and armed with a Master's in French, it was time to head for Paris, and an international career in the fashion industry.
The world's most renowned photographers, the call of the sea, travel, society life, and on the other hand, painting, her secret world.
Following the birth of her two children, this hidden passion took on a supreme importance in her life.
Throughout her daughter's illness and prolonged coma, Caroline Dechamby fought a solitary battle against fate, for her child's and her own survival.
The rare moments of respite for herself and her son, during the night, she devoted to painting, choosing seemingly unimportant subjects which afterwards became today's themes. The mountains and golf course scenery were transformed into giant apples, roses, or a multitude of contemporary subjects, that she painted with great precision.
